About
I am PhD Candidate in Geography at the University of Washington. My research examines the significance of new spatial media and asks how their nascence changes how geographers ‘think’ spatial technology. Specifically, I am interested in how to situate the emergence of geoweb phenomena within the historical context of broader political economic shifts; how emergent spatial information technologies are branded outside of disciplinary geography proper, and the work that these discursive framings do; and, how to epistemologically frame and engage the materialities (technological devices and informational artifacts) of Web-based geographic information technologies.
