About
I am a Ph.D. student at University of Washington's School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences. Previously, I worked as a marine ecologist based at NOAA – Northwest Fisheries Science Center’s Point Adams Research Station in Hammond, OR, at the mouth of the Columbia River. I worked with Oregon State University’s Cooperative Institute for Marine Resource Studies (CIMRS) investigating the impacts of piscivorous seabirds on juvenile salmonids in and around the mouth of the Columbia River and along the coasts of Oregon and Washington. I work at-sea in the northern California Current Ecosystem, in the Columbia River plume area, and from the North Head Lighthouse (Long Beach Peninsula, WA) to document trends in seasonal species abundance and demonstrate the importance of the Columbia River plume habitat to marine predators. I plan to combine aspects of this research in my doctoral dissertation at UW.
