Jack Turner is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Washington. He specializes in American political thought, race in American politics, critical race theory, and liberal democratic theory. His book, Awakening to Race: Individualism and Social Consciousness in America, is forthcoming from the University of Chicago Press (2012). His articles have also appeared in Political Theory, Raritan, Modern Intellectual History, and Polity.
